Activist Okiya Omtatah’s daughter Maryann Marisyanna Annuarite has sadly passed on after suffering from acute malaria.
The 21-year-old Maryann Marisyanna Annuarite who was a third-year student studying diplomacy and international relations at Riara University was in a coma for a week at a Nairobi hospital died on Thur, April 16, at 10 pm after battling the disease in the (ICU) for a week

Taking to Twitter, Okiya Omtatah Okoiti shared the sad news mourning her daughter Maryann that had so much to offer to the world.

Former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga took time to mourn with Okiya Omtatah sending out a tweet.
“My friend Omtatah, pole on losing your daughter Maryanne, to acute malaria. I know the pain of losing a child, let it strengthen you to push harder for policies that improve lives for our people. God grant you strength to cope with the loss. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.” Raila Odinga’s tweet read.
