Octopizzo has one of the best rap albums of 2020 by far and he made it special just as he promised months prior to its release and pushing back the release date made it worth the wait.

Octopizzo’s 5th studio album ‘Jungle Fever’ is one of the best hip hop offerings the world will never ever forget and that cuts across the entire African continent because it’s not a Kenyan album, it’s an African studio album. It’s a Pan-African project as it can get.

“It’s not a Kenyan album only, it’s like an African contemporary storyline that we want everybody to hear. With this album, I want all the people that listen to it to embrace who they are”

Speaking for the first time about the inspiration for the album, the ‘Ivo Ivo Ivo’ hitmaker opened up like never before and we are here for it.

“When it comes to music, Nairobi is the best place to be, probably in Africa,” Octopizzo says on the mini-documentary about him and his latest offering, “you can do anything, it’s like a Kenyan dream like you can actually be whatever you want in Nairobi.”

“Every single music I’ve ever recorded or ever put out has been inspired by this place[Kibera] in one way or the other,” Octopizzo continued.

Octopizzo went on to stress that the album isn’t only a Kenyan project but a Pan-African project altogether that intends to paint Africa in a positive light, giving a different perspective to not only Kenya but the entire continent.

“The new album is called ‘Jungle Fever’ which is an oxymoron for a lot of things, with this album I wanted to give people a different perspective of what one Africa is and what a Kenyan person is,” Octopizzo opened up about the album.

Octopizzo: No other rapper has the hottest bars than me

The rapper who changed the mainstream hip hop in the country went further to explain why he decided to put a lot of stories on the album because all of us can relate to the feeling of losing our identity.

“We are raised to fear failure so much that a lot of people don’t even attempt to do things they could’ve great at. On #JungleFever I put a lot of story coz I think we can all relate to the feeling of losing our identity.” Octopizzo shared on Instagram.

“By putting an immense amount of pressure on myself to become the Artist I had always dreamed of becoming, I never gave myself an opportunity to stop and look at what I had already accomplished. I was drowning myself on the idea of who I wanted to be, instead of focusing on who I was.” he continued.
