Octopizzo explains the visuals for ‘Nikupate’ song

3 mins read

Octopizzo expressed his artistical side through his recently released record dubbed ‘Nikupate’.

The visuals for the hit record marks the first time Octopizzo has released a music video that doesn’t show him in the cameo even once since it’s turning mainstream.

Of course, there’s OctoMontana, released 7 years ago which is animated but that doesn’t count since the protagonist on the cameo is an animated version of Octopizzo so that leaves us with the one, the ‘Nikupate’ song.

Having the cameo for the song shot in Kibera, Octopizzo’s visuals for ‘Nikupate’ is something his entire fanbase wasn’t expecting but were impressed all the same when it drops back on August 11 because of its out-of-the-box cameo.

Octopizzo reminisces how far he came from in a hearty post

“The culture of our world, right now, is crafted by little boys who only recall being stood up on their first date, and nothing they got after.

They don’t remember the sand they kicked in other people’s eyes, only their own injuries.” Octopizzo said.

Expressing just how intertwined, and well versed he is when it comes to art Octopizzo had some words to back up his love for art, especially when it comes to his music and his yearning of becoming the best rapper to ever do it and represent not only Kenya but the entire African continent through his timeless, diverse music.

“Our art is cynical and bad-ass and made by people who will not be happy until you join them in the church of “everything is [expletive] up, so throw up your hands.” This is art as anesthesia,” he added.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
