Octopizzo brought out Shamir on his new song ‘Warrior’

Octopizzo is back at it again by releasing hit records, one after the other, and this time around, he brought out Shamir on his latest offering.

The rapper who is also a philanthropist got to work with the ever-talented singer and vocalist Shamir on his latest offering dubbed ‘Warrior’ that has been plucked from his upcoming ‘Fuego Deluxe’ studio album NFT Edition.

This is the very first time Shamir got to work with Octopizzo which is somewhat a privilege to the ‘On Fire’ hitmaker because Octopizzo’s collaborations do not usually come easy.

In the record, Octopizzo who dropped lyricism for sound in his music is seen predominantly rapping in English as he speaks about deep, spiritual stuff like not believing in the white Jesus and being “woke” as they call it.

A lot of stuff that Octopizzo usually raps about in his records are things that your typical rapper is afraid of talking about in public leave alone putting them on a record, clearly, Octopizzo is on his own level in both lyricism, consciousness, and also unapologetic in his music.

He’s also one of the upper echelon rappers if not the only one in Kenya who went on record to say that he is totally pro-legalization and decriminalization of medicinal marijuana.

He also promised to always have a line or two in all his songs that talks about marijuana until it gets legalized, that’s unprecedented, even for your favorite rapper who isn’t Octopizzo.

In this song, Octopizzo targets the international audience by rapping in English but not entirely, like the second verse on the record sees him rapping in Sheng, the language that he helped put on the international map when he started putting out records commercially over a decade ago.

Before Octopizzo, not a lot of rappers were rapping and writing their songs in Sheng, he came along and changed all that, you might even call him a pioneer of the current music we listen to today and it’ll be okay.

This ‘Warrior’ record isn’t a song that you’d imagine missing out on.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
