Nick Mutuma who has since settled down with fellow actor and model, Bridget Shighadi took to social media to open up on how the sexual assault allegations have been a dark cloud hovering over him affecting his family, his personal and professional life as well.
“The allegations that came out against me in 2017 that has since resurfaced have really taken a toll on me.” Nick Mutuma said in part on his official statement in regard to the alleged sexual assault, “They have really affected my family and sadly they have and continue to affect the people in my personal and professional life.”
Mutuma who is a bonafide entertainer and a consistent actor who is one of the most sought-after talented actors in the country says that he isn’t perfect but he usually strives each and every day in becoming a better person despite a lot of people trying with all their might to pull him back and condemning him without even knowing him as a person.
“I know I’m not perfect, but I’m not the person these people tried to portray me as. Every day, I work towards being a better person; but it is so hard to do that when you are constantly being pulled back by people that are convinced that you are a monster,” the statement read on.
Nick Mutuma has boldly made an official statement stating that he doesn’t approve or condone any violence toward women since forever and there’s no way he can get himself to hurt any woman.
“I would like to categorically state that I am against any form of abuse against women and I always have been,” he said.
The actor who is celebrating having one of his films enjoy the glory of being picked by Netflix went on to explain why he chose to remain silent over the years for fear of being “misinterpreted as guilt or complacency,”
“This has been a very difficult time for me and my family not just because of the things being said about us on social media, but because it has been very difficult to talk about this. I did not want my silence to be misinterpreted as guilt or complacency, yet I also did not want to speak and have my words twisted and misrepresented. It is unfortunate that despite this, I have been put on trial in the court of public opinion, prosecuted and ruled guilty by persons with malicious intentions.” part of the official statement read in part.
