Tanzanian gospel sensation Christina Shusho has shed light on her decision to tie the knot at the tender age of 19, revealing her mother’s concerns about her striking beauty as a driving factor.

Famed for her hit track “Shusha Nyavu,” Shusho disclosed that she exchanged vows shortly after completing her high school education.

“I got married at the age of 19, very young. After finishing high school, I was exceptionally beautiful, and my mother was concerned that I could attract unwanted attention and bring disgrace to the family,” explained Shusho.

Reflecting on her youthful allure, Shusho remarked that she was even more striking back then compared to now.

“Now, I’m older. Don’t tell me I’m beautiful; I was exceptionally beautiful. So, when this man expressed his interest in me to my mother, she reluctantly consented. I was truly beautiful,” she reminisced.

In a separate interview, Christina Shusho delved into her decision to remove her wedding ring and part ways with her pastor husband, John Shusho.

The renowned artist attributed her actions to a firm commitment to her divine calling.

“I’ve always been genuine and forthright. The truth is, it’s about the mission. Nothing else has changed. The work that God assigned me required me to depart from my previous circumstances. I had to depart to fulfill the mission,” she candidly revealed.

Shusho clarified that she does not hold the title of pastor and expressed discomfort with being labeled as such.
