Nay Wa Mitego has gone underground after dropping a new song ‘Sauti Ya Watu’ which criticizes the government of President Samia Suluhu.

Various reports, although unconfirmed, claim that the artist is in hiding and is being sought by government agencies due to his protest song.

Last week, Nay wa Mitego released a song called ‘Sauti ya Watu’ criticizing Tanzanian leadership for harassing the poor economically.

In the song, Nay makes a strong attack on the government of president Suluhu even though he starts by apologizing to her because he knew he would offend her in the message in the song.

“Hii sio sauti ya kiharakati, wala ukombozi wa Musa na fimbo yake, bali haya ni maumivu ya mnyonge, anayewakilisha walala hoi wenzake, kwenye kinywa kilichokosa pa kusemea hisia zake. Rais natanguliza samahani kwa wale nitakaowakwaza, yamenifika kwenye koo nimeshindwa kunyamaza,” Nay wa Mitego raps.

With his kind of professionalism, the rapper puts his strong words in a poetic way while lamenting that the corrupt people who purged by the late president John Magufuli have already been returned to work were busy plundering the country’s resources.

“Kilio cha kila mtu pesa hakuna imefichwa wapi, siku hizi mpaka vigenge vya nyanya TRA inataka kodi. Maskini amejichanga vipesa benki anakatwa tozo. Hizo V8 mnazonunua si hela zetu za kodi? Naona mnafurahia kuliko hata walipa kodi. Mnajenga hospitali, dawa hakuna, mnatujengea shule lakini walimu hatuna,” Nay raps.
