A statement from National Super Alliance (NASA) confirms that Raila Odinga was targeted for assassination by the police on Friday November 17th.

Social media was awash with photos of Raila’s vehicle which had its windscreen shattered. Netizens claimed that police had shot at the Nasa leader.

A statement from Nasa leadership has confirmed that rumor. Nasa official twitter account tweeted to confirm that police fired live ammunition at Raila’s vehicle. The statement further says that the SUV’s bulletproof windscreen stopped the bullet.

“Hon. Raila Odinga has survived an attempt on his life while driving into town from JKIA, following his arrival from the US this morning. Fortunately he and all co-passengers are well owing to his state-of-the-art bullet-proof car #RailaReturns #Resist,” Nasa tweeted.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also warns Uhuru and Ruto that there will be no country to loot if Raila is assassinated by the police.

“Uhuru and Ruto should be reminded that killing HE Raila Odinga will leave them with no country to loot,” wrote Babu Owino.

The MP also says police fired at his SUV, he shared photos to prove his claim. He further took a swipe at the police for hitting his vehicle.

“Kenya police broke my car using live bullets but they can’t even afford a bicycle wire,” Babu Ownio captioned photos of his SUV.

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo also suffered the same fame, her vehicle’s windscreen was hit by the police during the melee.
