Nakuru Member of County Assembly(MCA) Karanja Mburu has died following a grisly road accident on Sunday morning near the Viewpoint area in Gilgil on the Nakuru — Naivasha Highway.
Honorable Mr. Karanja Mburu lost control of his vehicle and veered off ramming into a tree.
According to Nakuru County Assembly Deputy Speaker Samuel Tanui, who said they could not immediately establish the actual time the accident occurred, said that the deceased was found dead at the accident scene at around 5 am with his car already overturned.
Karanja Mburu was the MCA for Lakeview Ward in Naivasha. His body was taken to Umash mortuary in Nakuru.
The official Jubilee Party Twitter account sent out their condolences to the MCA, Hon. Karanja Mburu.
“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Hon. Karanja Mburu after a tragic road accident. Hon. Mburu was the MCA, Lakeview Ward in Naivasha Constituency, Nakuru County.” the tweet read.
“Deeply saddened by the passing on of Hon. Karanja Mburu, MCA for Lakeview Ward. Hon. Karanja was a dedicated & hardworking public servant, passionate about serving his constituents and the nation. My thoughts & prayers are with the family, friends & the people of Nakuru County.” Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko shared sending condolences to friends and family.
Naivasha MP Jane Kihara termed the news shocking, adding she was trying to come to terms with the death of the astute leader.

“We have lost a promising leader in Naivasha and I take this moment to send my condolences to the family and people of Naivasha,” she said.
A colleague Eric Gichuki, who is also Viwandani MCA, said that they had been in talks with the deceased the previous day discussing issues of development.
“Karanja never shied from telling any leader how they were performing and this is one of the saddest days for the people of Nakuru county,” he said.
