K-Rupt’s only surviving brother Hilton Mwakio alias Mwax the Herbalist is dead.

Mwax, who was a music producer, sound engineer graphic and web designer, died on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Details surrounding his demise are still scanty.

The deceased was the surviving member of his immediate family after his mom other passed on in March 2021, and his late legendary brother rapper K-rupt, real name Carlton Williams Bongo Juma, died in November 2003.

Mwax was a household name in showbiz for many years having founded Herbal Records with his late brother K-rupt.

The deceased run Herbal Records since 2003 when K-rupt was suddenly murdered.

K-rupt was killed by a single gunshot wound in a matatu headed to a concert. Witnesses said K-Rupt, aged 24 at the time, argued with the gangsters, who immediately opened fire on him, killing him with a single bullet. They dumped his body in Laikipia Forest according to police reports.

K-rupt had national success in the two years leading up to his murder in 2003. He collaborated with musicians such as Fizzle Dogg, Big Pin, and E-Sir, who died earlier the same year.

He also did concerts with fellow hip hop musician Nameless and was signed to the record label Ogopa Deejays.

K-Rupt’s hit singles included “Changamshwa,” “Tukawake,” and “Chacha.” His single “Dada Njoo” was on the charts at the time of his death.

The song “Bamba” with fellow rappers the late E-Sir and Big Pin was arguably his most successful song.
