Willy Paul came under sharp criticisms from all quarters when he recently dropped a controversial song dubbed ‘Lamba Nyonyo’.

Rapper Muthoni Drummer Queen has since come out to offer her unwavering support to the controversial ‘gospel’ singer.

Muthoni argued her case for Willy Paul in a series of tweets. The rapper stated that Pozze is a very talented singer and that he should just quit the fake gospel industry.

“Let’s be clear Willy Paul is NOT the bullsh*t here. I think he is very talented. IMO he has been long overdue to make a clean break from fake gospel industry, the injili crowd+the corporate Ksh that keeps pushing it. I sincerely long for him to really develop himself as an artist,” Muthoni tweeted.

Adding that;

“Before wasafi was a wave, I ranted to anyone who could listen that Willy Paul had the ability to dominate all Kiswahili speaking Africa & maleable enough to fit with Congolese/Lusaphone/Island Africa. I spoke about this idea with conviction to @shaffieweru and #Bien from Sautisol”

“I wish I had reached out to him directly. I was afraid to be misunderstood. @willypaulmsafii you are a good artist. You write & sing well. You have good control over your body & voice on stage. You have access & influence. You don’t need ‘gospel’ and don’t need gimmicks. At all.”

Muthoni further implores Willy Paul to stop pretending to be someone he is not, she urges him to ditch the church and do what he wants to do freely.

“Ditch the church crowd & everything that comes with it. This ‘bad boy’ image, make it your reality. Curse on tracks. Get 100 tattoos. Do whatever & exactly what you want to do. Just write us real stories. Work with excellent producers. Shape your own sound. Own your own narrative.”

“Burn the bridge to your old life. Whoever you loose will by far be compensated by the ones you will gain. Also remember, Kenyans love you when you succeed. You’ve done it before, you will do it again @willypaulmsafii
. Be freed of the gospel + Kenyans expectations”
