John Okafor aka Mr Ibu recorded a video message from his deathbed thanking P Square’s Rudeboy for standing with him financially and emotionally during the entire time he was sick.
The video shows Ibu lying in the hospital bed as he spoke.
“Rudeboy, I donât know where to begin. But everything happens exactly in Godâs own time. When the time comes, it has come.
“Rudeboy, if you donât make heaven, call me nama [meat]. You will go to heaven and we will sit in the presence of the angels and eat together.”
âWhat people will be talking about today would be, âHow come? But Ibu and P-Square, they are not the same parents.â But I tell you, parents don come,” he said.

Mr Ibu died on Saturday night March 2, 2024, weeks he underwent successful surgeries that led to amputation of one of his legs.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr Emeka Rollas, who confirmed his death, said he died of cardiac arrest
âMr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didnât make it. May his soul rest in peace,â Rollas said.
Even before Mr Ibuâs death, his family was already fighting each other over money donated by well-wishers to cater for his treatment.
