Reasons Mike Sonko is giving up on helping Kenyans in the Gulf

4 mins read

Mike Sonko has helped many Kenyans who have found themselves in problems while working in the Gulf region i.e. Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and other countries.

Recently, Kenyans have been angered by how inhumanely our brothers and sisters have been treated by natives in the above-mentioned countries while looking for better fortunes abroad and specifically in the gulf.

A number of them have return home in caskets, so unfortunate and painful for affected families to handle.

Via his official Facebook page, the former Nairobi County governor says, it has reached a point and he’s not able to assist Kenyans in need anymore.

As narrated by him, here are the reasons why Mike Sonko has reached a dead end in his pursuit to help in this particular case:

“FELLOW KENYANS APA KIHEREHERE YANGU YA KUSAIDIA IMEFIKA MWISHO.

A couple of days ago when we brought the body of the late Jacinta Mugure Kamau which was exhumed after being buried at Akkar cemetery in Lebanon as an unknown body, I promised to shed light kwa the case of Mercy Mbula from Kangundo.

I have been following on the case of Mercy Mbula Mutwota who was killed in Saudi Arabia by a fellow Kenyan, Sheila in a love triangle where Mercy lost her life after acid was poured on her.

We have tried to get justice the Kenyan way but the law of the land is different in Saudi Arabia as compared to Kenya, where one is sentenced to death if she/he murders and that is the crime Sheila(a fellow Kenyan) has committed.

The only way Sheila who is now in custody can be helped is if the family of Mercy goes to Saudi Arabia to drop the charges or writes a letter stating the same.

Watu wangu, now that’s beyond me because I cannot really interfere with the way a family deals with the death of a loved one and how they deal with the person responsible for the loss, regardless of the circumstances surrounding it. However, our efforts to bring Mercy back home to be laid to rest zinaendelea and the good news is Waziri Alfred Mutua will be in Saudia kesho.”
