The microphone Cardi B used to hit an irate fan about two weeks ago has been sold on eBay for almost $100,000/Ksh14 million.
It was auctioned by the owner of an audio equipment hire company, who said all profits would go to charity.
The Shure Axient digital mic, which belonged to an audio production company called The Wave in Sin City, was previously put on eBay by the company’s owner, Scott Fisher.
A week and 122 bids later, someone had paid $99,900 for it, according to reports.
The item was auctioned off for charity though. Scott initially told TMZ that the proceeds will be split with two charities, the Wounded Warrior Project and a local Vegas charity called Friendship Circle Las Vegas, which benefits teenagers with special needs.
Cardi B became a suspect in an assault investigation after she threw a microphone at a woman who tossed a drink at her during her gig in Las Vegas on July 29, 2023.
The rapper was seen throwing the microphone from the stage after getting splashed by a drink thrown by the woman.
The woman who was hit by the mic went to Las Vegas Metro PD the next day to report the incident.
However, she claimed that Cardi B struck her with the microphone even though she was not the person who threw the drink at the rapper.
The woman in her report filed at the police station claimed she was bruised and sore.
She also shared the clip of Cardi B throwing the microphone at her and captioned it “When I’m the one who gets smoked by the microphone but didn’t throw the drink.”
In the video, the American rapper was seen setting the stage on fire with her performance when a person in the crowd hurled liquid from a cup at her mid-performance.
Cardi, who appeared visibly shocked at the incident, threw her microphone at the person while appearing to angrily yell at the person. The lady was immediately escorted out of the venue by security.
