Mbosso reveals why he collaborated with Nigerian artiste Reekado Banks for his song ‘Shilingi’ instead of Sauti Sol

Bongo singer Mbwana Yusuph Kilungi, popularly known by his stage name Mbosso, was supposed to feature Sauti Sol in his song ‘Shilingi’ but nevertheless he ended up collaborating with Nigerian singer Reekado Banks.

‘Shilingi’ was dropped on September 16th and has been trending on YouTube to date. The song has so far garnered 1.2 million views on YouTube.

Speaking of his song during a recent radio interview, Mbosso revealed that he sent Sauti Sol an audio for his song asking them for a collobo, but the Kenyan music band was busy with other projects.

“Before the collabo, I spoke to four artistes. I remember I even texted Rudeboy but Reekadoh told me how he loved my music. I sent him the song that I was supposed to do with Sauti Sol. They were busy,” said Mbosso.

The Bongo singer went on to collaborate with Reekado who was quick to respond after he contacted him seeking a collabo, he however stated that he is working with Sauti Sol in another project.

“Sauti Sol understood and we have another project with them, so expect something big,” said Mbosso.
