Actress Jackie Matubia joined other African film stars at the grand premiere of Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ season 3 in South Africa.
The new season will be available on Netflix worldwide on May 16 (part 1) and June 13 (part 2).
The event, held in Johannesburg, was a glamorous affair with attendees dressed in line with the ‘Regency Era Splendor: Into the Spotlight’ theme.
Matubia turned heads in a stunning burgundy ensemble that featured a jumpsuit design with burgundy and blue accents.
The outfit was detailed with a high collar, cape-like back, voluminous ruffled sleeves, and an open neckline.
However, despite her standout look, Matubia faced backlash from followers, particularly concerning the fit around her bust area.
In response, she defended her fashion choice, asserting that it embodies modern trends and her evolving style sensibilities.
Addressing the criticism on social media, Matubia confidently stated, “My breasts and envy made you open pseudo accounts. Take some pressure drips because I applied the right pressure the way it is supposed to be done. And when God decides, He decides. For those cheering me on, I am grateful and I love you so much.”
Backing her up, stylist Nelly Mulandi emphasized the meticulous planning and flawless execution that went into crafting the outfit.
Mulandi noted the in-depth research done to ensure the ensemble aligned perfectly with the essence of the new ‘Bridgerton’ season.
“A lot of research went into this look. We did extensive research into the mind of the stylist for the new season,” she said.
