A sex therapist has recommended that football players in the upcoming FIFA world cup tournament should be encouraged to masturbate.

Vera Ribeiro who is also wife to Portugal’s goal Keeper Rui Patrici has advised that the Portugal national team will have a better chance of success in the upcoming world cup if Coach Fernando Santos urges his players to masturbate before every game.

According to British media; The mirror, the sex therapist who recently published a book that examines footballers love lives entitled ‘Manual of seduction’ argues that players will be able to cope with anxiety and stress much better during the tournament if they indulge themselves regularly.

Many football players are always advised to abstain from sexual activities before and during tournament but according to Ms Ribeiro insists that “nothing positive comes from sexual abstinence”- and that forbidding players to make love before games has a negative impact.

As the world waits for the biggest sporting event on earth to kick off in a week’s time in Russia, many of the people’s reaction seemed to support Dr. Ribeiro’s sentiments.
Some football fanatics took the conversation even deeper by alluding that if incase Dr Ribeiro’s recommendation was true then we can easily conclude that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are so good at the game of ‘indulging themselves!’

Will other players take heed of the good doctor’s advice and indulge themselves regularly? Well let’s wait and see as the best ‘self indulgers’ win the trophy.
