Marioo is now the musician with the most streamed album on music download platform Boomplay.

According to a new list released by Charts Tz, the artist’s album known as ‘The Kid You Know’ holds the first place in the list of 10 albums by Tanzanian artists that were released early two years ago.

Previously, WCB Wasafi star Diamond Platnumz’s EP (Extended Play – sort of half an album) ‘FOA’ had held the lead for a long time, but young Marioo has overtaken the Bongo king.

Marioo holds the first position with 95.1 million streams on Boomplay, Diamond has dropped to the second position with his FOA EP which has garnered 94.2 million streams.

In addition, Rayvanny, Harmonize and Alikiba close the top five list with their latest albums.

In the list, artists Harmonize, Rayvanny and Mbosso appear more than once for their different albums that they released less than two years ago.

Barnaba Classic, a veteran of Bongo Fleva, also held his position with his ‘Love Sounds Different’ album.

This list comes at a time when there is a lot of chatter on the internet about the list of favorite artists of the vice president of the United States Kamala Harris, which was released two days ago to highlight her trip to African countries – Ghana, Zambia and Tanzania.

In the list which some of the experts have called as dubious, artists Diamond and Rayvanny could not be seen, while from Tanzania, artists Harmonize, Alikiba, Zuchu, Mbosso, Jux and Darassa represented in the list of 25 songs that were mentioned as Harris’ favorite.
