Larry Madowo explains his two month absence from social media

Larry Madowo had taken a break from social media without alerting his fans, the celebrated journalist only came back after his documentary was nominated for prestigious award.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday November 6th, Larry said he had taken a two month break from social media and that he only came back after his BBC radio documentary was nominated and won the 2019 AIB International Media Excellence Awards.

“Back from a 2-month social media break to learn that a BBC radio documentary I presented was nominated for an award! I loved working on it & I’m so glad people around the world enjoyed it,” Larry Madowo tweeted.

 

Adding that;

“I planned to take 30 days off social media but I enjoyed it so much that I doubled it. I learnt 72 new languages & built a house with my bare hands. What did I miss?”

The AIB International Media Excellence Awards – the AIBs – were created in 2005 by the Association for International Broadcasting.

The AIBs are the international awards for factual television, radio, audio and online productions in any language. The award recognizes excellence in the international broadcasting industry and attract entries from broadcasters all over the world.

Larry Madowo attended AIBs award gala that was held in London where he was feted for his impressive work on his BBC radio documentary.
