Kwesta real name Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi who is a five time SAMA award(South African Music Awards) winner sat down with The Citizen and opened up about the collaboration hit single ‘spirit’ with American rapper Kwesta came about.

Kwesta wanted to make sure his music is heard everywhere in the world and he reached out to Wale and played him some stuff that he has worked on before and he liked it and Wale asked him to send him the track which he did and as soon as he sent him the chorus for the song for the ‘Spirit’
song that has since became an anthem in South Africa Wale sent him his verse the next day and that’s how the epic song came about.

Kwesta by now has a huge fan base not only in South African but abroad, the whole African region and thanks to his freestyle at Sway in the morning and now ‘Spirit’ he is an African rapper people look up to and 2018 has just began, so we better be ready for what’s in store.
