The family of the late Eric Onguru aka Kunguru has requested financial assistance to complete the payment of the huge hospital bill that resulted from the treatment of the veteran musician.
The family also needs help to arrange a dignified funeral for the singer in April.
The fundraising event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 25 at the Don Bosco Catholic Church, Upper Hill Street, Nairobi. The event will start at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.

The presenter of the Gidi and Ghost program in the morning on Radio Jambo, Gidi Ogidi revealed that the late Kunguru will be buried in April at his Pap Oriang home, in Alego area, Siaya county.
“We humbly ask for your help to pay the hospital bills and give him a proper burial,” he said.
A few days ago, Gidi mourned the late Kunguru who passed away on Sunday.
Gidi, who was clearly shocked by the death of the legendary rapper, mourned him as his friend and wished his soul a peaceful rest.
“Eric Onguru aka Kunguru who sang ‘Baby Don’t Go’ with Mr Lenny has passed away. Rest in peace my friend,” Gidi said on his social media pages on Sunday.
The talented broadcaster who was also a singer continued to express his pain at the loss of one of his former colleagues in the music industry.
According to his former manager, Kunguru died on Sunday around 8 pm. The deceased had been hospitalized at Nairobi Hospital for the past few weeks.
The former manager explained that the veteran rapper has been hospitalized and allowed to go home regularly since 2017. He related the long-term illness of Kanguru to the road accident he had in 2009/10 which affected his spine.
Kunguru is best remembered for his famous songs “I Will Never Let you Go” and “Baby Don’t Go”, featuring Mr. Lenny.
