Imran garnered 4,382 votes to be declared as ODM’s candidate for the Kibra constituency by-election scheduled for November 7th 2019.

Kris Darlin came in a distant 5th in ODM primaries, the mix master only managed to garner 417 votes. The other seven contestants garnered; Peter Orero (1,218), John Milla Otieno (906), Ben Musungu (524), Tony Ogola (381), Stephen Okello (228), Brian Owino (127), Reuben Ojijo (52) and Eric Obayi (45).

ODM leader Raila Odinga refunded Ksh 2.25 million nomination fees to nine aspirants after rogue party officials bungled primaries in Kibra.

Raila handed each of the aspirants Ksh 250,000 they had paid for the party primaries following revelations that some party official orchestrated the mix-up on voters’ roll.

“Mr Odinga acknowledges that there were challenges in the nominations, with names missing from the voter register but those were not tailored or deliberately introduced to favour or disenfranchise any aspirant,” read a statement from Raila Odinga which was issued to the press through his spokespersons Dennis Onyango.
