King Kaka has opened up about how music literally saved his life for the better meaning every word of that statement.

The King Kaka founder and CEO recall how back in 2008 he released his debut studio album dubbed ‘Tales of Kaka Sungura’ that changed his life for the better.

The ‘One and Only’ hitmaker recalls how he performed at Club Qatika in Westlands that fateful day with KSh.80,000 in his socks after successfully selling the tickets to his show, and selling his studio album and merchandise.

Taking to social media, King Kaka narrated how far he has come in the music industry giving his thanks to his close friends, fans, and family for believing in him when it didn’t make sense to do just that.

“22nd August 2008, Where were you? I was dropping my 1st album titled ‘Tales Of Kaka Sungura’ at Club Qatika in Westlands (now occupied by Naivas) This album showed me it’s possible, I was fortunate to work with Harry Kimani, Zakah, Abbas Kubaff, Chiwawa, Anto Neosoul, Kayvo Kforce, UB, Kimya, and many others, and made my 1st big song, Niko Kwa Jam Nakam, and Dodoma with Harry,” he said in part.

King Kaka celebrates 13 years since he released his debut studio album. His album was released on August 22nd August 2008.

“I remember performing that night and I had Kshs 80,000 stashed in my socks from ticket sales, albums and merch.

Music saved my life, and trust me this is not just a phrase.

22nd August Marks 13yrs since I dropped Tales Of Kaka Sungura,” he added.

King Kaka hasn’t been afraid of telling his fans how far he’s come from prior to becoming a big superstar in hip hop in Kenya as he is today as accomplished and celebrated by his peers and fans.

King Kaka real name Kennedy Ombima has since grown and he currently has 5 studio albums in his music catalog today.
