Khaligraph Jones has opened up about stuff that most people didn’t know and nobody would’ve guessed when it comes to the late legendary rapper Chris Kantai who he highly regarded and publicly put him on the pedestal admitting that he played a major role in molding him become an established rapper he is today.

First off, Khaligraph Jones was the only rapper who worked with the gifted, talented, and legendary rapper Kantai when no other artiste was there for him to even feature him on any of their songs.

Actually Khaligraph Jones is the only mainstream rapper who usually pays his respect to the rappers that came before him in the game giving them their due respect, no other mainstream rapper has done that, ever. Okay, maybe King Kaka is an exception to this but still, Khaligraph Jones usually goes all the way on this.

Khaligraph worked with Kantai on a timeless record dubbed ‘Ting’ Badi Malo’ that is still as relevant today as the day it was released. Jones confessed that working with Kantai was a dream come true and he hasn’t been afraid to mention that Kantai was the ultimate OG before he became an OG in the hip hop realm today.

It was a huge blow to the music industry in the country especially to the Kayole rapper Khaligraph Jones after the sudden, untimely death of Chris Kantai alias Chris Kantadda was confirmed by his family.

“A lot of people have dreams of meeting Jay-Z and Kanye. Kantai at that time was my Jay-Z. They don’t make OGs like that anymore. Khaligraph Jones is the last of a dying breed after Kantai. Let us stop waiting for our pioneers to die so that we can talk about how they were legends and inspired us while they were alive. I know some artistes who paved the way for us who are going through depression right now. Let us help them. Rest in peace, Kantai.”

Khaligraph Jones said in a clip he shared on Instagram after learning Kantai had passed away a few months ago.

Khaligraph Jones took the loss to the chin because he was fond of the rapper and he allegedly had other projects he wanted to work with him even after working with him on a record.

Sitting down on an exclusive interview, Khaligraph Jones opened up for the first time speaking on how he wasn’t allowed to attend Kantai’s funeral by Kantai’s mother.

“I wasn’t allowed to attend his burial and his funeral in Ngong,” Khaligraph Jones said in part, “apparently this is what was said about the whole ordeal. Kantai’s mom was made to believe that I was the one who made Kantai go through depression and passing away eventually”

“You know that’s why am telling you, when you rise to some certain level in life, and you have influence over people and you have made it and you are successful, people always have bad intentions unajua.” Khaligraph Jones added speaking on how influential people usually go through a lot of hate for no apparent reason.

Khaligraph Jones opened up on how he is getting blamed for almost everything Kantai’s went through and that he allegedly owed Kantai money from the aforementioned song they did together back in 2016.

“It is said that I was the one who took Chris Kantai’s style and ran with it, and now I left him to suffer instead of helping him out, I owed him money, it is said that I owed him money from the song we did together and then he passed away and it’s all because of me,”

“The mother gave directives that Khaligraph Jones should never attend Kantai’s funeral,”

Even though Khaligraph Jones was banned from attending Kantai’s burial and funeral, he still took his time to mobilize some friends on the music industry and came up with some money to send to Chris Kantai’s family and later sent it to them.

“I tried to mobilize a couple of from different places and we were able to raise some amount and we passed the amount to the family, so I did what I had to do but it is what it is though it hurts,” the ‘Instagram Girls hitmaker added.
