Khaligraph Jones debut album ‘Testimony 1990’ has garnered over 83,000 streams on its first week of release on Boomplay alone where he exclusively dropped it for about 24 hours before he made it official on other streaming platforms.

This milestone makes history, as it is the first time for a hip hop album to reach such a milestone in Kenya. With the debut album ‘Testimony 1990’ which the rapper now intends to make it available in physical copies all around, Khaligraph Jones has paved the way for hip hop artistes to get as many streams as any other artiste in a different genre would get in just a week as the album dropped on his birthday which is on June 12th.

Khaligraph Jones might just have revived the hip hop in Kenya and commercialize it on a large scale especially on the East African market where it is largely dominated with Bongo being commercialized on a large scale. No other hip hop artiste from not just east Africa but the whole of Africa has ever sold so many units in just a week on Boomplay digital streaming service which is exclusively for African artistes for African market.
