The Kenyan-born, 23-year-old Abubakr Abbass now famously known as Metro Man has achieved viral worldwide attention on social media and has become a popular cult favorite and a celebrity.

Abubakr Abbass the Metro Man is from Mombasa Kenya.

Metro Man as they call him directs the hundreds of fans visiting the old market, known as Souq Waqif, to the neighboring metro station while seated in a tennis umpire chair and sporting a huge foam finger.

‘Metro, this way.’ he offers helpful counsel and it has become a catchphrase to say, “Metro? This way.” in Qatar.

Abbass frequently engages in back-and-forth conversations with visitors to the popular Souq Waqif, sparking scenes that resemble choreographed dances.
