Infamous preacher Victor Kanyari recently clarified the origins of the widely discussed Ksh310 donation request (panda mbegu), revealing that it was his secretary, not him, who came up with the successful idea.
Speaking to his congregation, Kanyari detailed the various amounts they experimented with, such as Ksh500, Ksh1000, and Ksh700, which all failed to generate significant contributions.
It was only when they asked for Ksh310 that they saw an overwhelming response, collecting over 1 million shillings in a single day. This success led his secretary to advise sticking with that specific amount.
“I had a woman here who went to America; she was my secretary. She is the one who gave the idea of 310, not me as others say. We asked for Ksh1000, but no one sent. We also asked for Ksh700, but no one sent. The day we asked for Ksh310, we got one million, and the woman told me to stop there. I wouldn’t be enjoying the life I have now if it wasn’t for that woman,” Kanyari explained.
Kanyari further emphasized the importance of recognizing and valuing those who provide guidance and support. He mentioned that even now, when his former secretary calls him, he makes it a point to listen to her advice.
This revelation sheds new light on the much-criticized donation strategy that brought significant financial success to Kanyari’s ministry.
