Pastor Victor Kanyari, founder of Salvation Healing Ministry, has publicly apologized to his congregation and the broader Kenyan community following a viral video depicting him receiving a condom from TikToker Faith Peters during a recent church service.
Facing intense scrutiny and online criticism, Pastor Kanyari expressed regret for the incident, acknowledging the uproar it caused.
In a video statement, Pastor Kanyari extended his apologies, stating, “I apologize for what happened last Sunday.”
Defending himself against accusations of impropriety, he maintained that he was unaware of the contents of the newspaper handed to him, expressing shock at the unexpected gesture.
Having dedicated three decades to his ministry, Pastor Kanyari asserted his astonishment at such an occurrence within his church, emphasizing that it was the first time such an incident had transpired.
He clarified that the woman involved was not a regular attendee and had not yet embraced salvation.
Assuring his congregation and the public, Pastor Kanyari affirmed, “Such an event will not happen again.”
He urged forgiveness for the unforeseen incident and pledged to maintain the sanctity of his ministry moving forward.
