Kieni Member of Parliament, Kanini Kega said something that caught the attention of a lot of people who are keenly following the 2022 Presidential race.
Kanini Kega disclosed that President Uhuru Kenyatta might not endorse the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga after all despite the two working closely together ahead of the 2022 Presidential elections.
Kanini being among the handful of Mount Kenya leaders who are keen on marketing Raila Odinga in the region said that it’s not all Counties in Mount Kenya that are in support of Raila Odinga being the next President in 2022 after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s second term in office.
Kanini Kega also said that President Kenyatta has some good plans for his Deputy William Samoei Ruto.
He went ahead to add that whatever is happening right now is a mere political game that was meant to happen in the first place between Deputy President and President.
“I do not think President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta will support and endorse Raila Odinga.
Raila Odinga Presidency is a by the way, but not guaranteed. The larger Mount Kenya Region wants William Ruto to succeed President Kenyatta. And for that reason, we will have to go with what our people want, not a few groups of weak leaders.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has good plans for William Ruto. And in fact, whatever is happening now, is a political game that was properly meant between the Head of State and his Deputy,” Kanini Kega said.
