Kiambu Governor William Kabogo today appeared in Milimani Court to answer to charges of hate speech.

Kabogo was in court over remarks he made on November 25th 2015 during the memorial of musician John de Mathew’s at Thika Stadium.

He insulted Cord leader and the community he comes from. Kabogo referred Raila as a small boy because he comes of a community that doesn’t embrace male circumcision.

National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) charged Kabogo for what they claimed as inciting hatred feelings against a community.

The Kiambu governor denied the charges when his case was mentioned at Milimani courts and was freed on a cash bail of Kes 200,000.

But Kabogo is not off the hook yet, his case will be heard on September 22 and 23.
