Many might not know this but Young Guru is a KING in his own right! He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2011 for his dope work he did on the Jay Z and Alicia Key’s single ‘Empire State Of Mind’. When it comes to music, every producer, audio engineer and Djs respects this Legend because he’s not only an audio engineer, but he’s also a record producer and a DJ. He is the real package. “The real deal” as professor Bamba would say.
For a 41 years old, he really has remained consistent to the music since he started way back while he was still a teenager. If you ask me, I think Young Guru has loved Africa from the get go because he once taught African history classes at a community center.
And by the way in case you are wondering he began Dj’ing in Washington DC in 1996.
