Jalang’o and Diamond Platnumz became friends long before both of them achieve the stunning success in their respective careers.
The Lang’ata MP reminisced about his friendship with Diamond narrating how they met for the first time in Malindi and drove in a Voxy to Mombasa after the event organizer dumped them.
“The first time we met with Diamond we had been called for a gig in Malindi… Sponsor akatutoka, mimi na Diamond tukapanda Voxy mpaka Mombasa. Alikuwa na ngoma kama mbili tatu wasee walikua wanajua. That was many years ago… Alikua na ngoma tatu, hana security or anyone but nilikua naye,” Jalang’o said while speaking during an interview with SPM Buzz.
During their journey, Diamond expressed gratitude to Jalang’o for the kindness and support shown on that day.
“On that day he told me I’ll never forget what you did to my life. And from that time we’ve always been friends,” the Lang’ata MP said.
Jalango expressed his commitment to nurturing relationships and ensuring that those who have made a difference in his life remain close to his heart.
“I don’t burn bridges. I always make sure that every person who has been around me and has had a positive impact on my life remains a part of it,” he said.
In 2018, Diamond appointed Jalang’o as his official MC in Kenya.
This happened when Diamond was in the country for the official launch of his ‘A Boy from Tandale’ album.
Jalang’o said the reason why Diamond chose him was because he wanted someone who understands him and since they are close he was the best option for the job.
“I am still Diamond’s official MC. Diamond is my friend so is his manager Babu Tale,” Jalang’o said in an interview with Mpasho in 2020.
“The reason they chose me is that they always want someone who understands them. Diamond and I come from way back. Until he fires me, the contract is open. It’s always turning green, meaning it’s always being extended,” he added.
