Jalang’o, whose real name Felix Odiwuor, finally graduated from Daystar University on Friday, November 13th 2020.

The Kiss FM presenter and Youtuber graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from Daystar University in Nairobi.

In an interview with MC Jessy on his YouTube channel on Thursday ahead of his graduation, Jalang’o revealed that he would have never graduated if it for Jessy.

He stated that it was Daystar university’s Communications Director Mr. Kilonzo who pushed him to join university, but it was MC Jessy who really inspired him to pursue higher education.

Jalang’o sheds tears of joy as he finally fulfills his late father’s wish

The comedian said that he only registered at Daystar in 2013 just to get Mr Kilonzo off his back, but willingly enrolled himself at Daystar three years later in 2016 after MC Jessy inspired him.

“It not for Jessy, tomorrow [his graduation] would have never happened. Yani Jessy I just don’t know how to thank you. I don’t know how to just say thank you again, because in 2013 there was this amazing man at Daystar University he was called bwana Kilonzo, the Communications Director.

So Kilonzo calls me akaniambia ‘Jalas hii mambo ya kuchekesha chekesha watu siku moja itaisha. There are new comedians up each and every single day. Lakini ukienda shule that will never be taken away from you. So nakuomba kabisa kuja shule’. Akakuja mbaka job akanikalisha chini akaniambia ‘bwana Jalas nakuona vitu unafanya, napenda vitu unafanya, lakini sipendi kuwa haujasoma’. So he kept on calling me again and again and again. So to make Kilonzo not to call me, nkaenda Daystar University nika register shule, after kuregister nkaachana nayo,” Jalang’o narrated.

Adding that;

“So I registered in 2013 but went to school in 2016, three years later ndo nkaenda shule. Then nkakuona [MC Jessy] una post shule shule shule, ndo nkasema this thing has to happen. Then one day nkakata kila kitu nkasema what is the worst thing that can never happen, wacha niingie class.”
