Internal wrangles in Cord are threatening to tear apart the opposition coalition at a time when 2017 elections is just a stone thrown away.

Budalang’I MP Ababu Namwamba and his Funyula counterpart Paul Otuoma started the storm and now more Luhya politicians within Cord are expressing views that threaten unity within Cord.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula dropped the bomb when he said Raila Odinga should not vie for the presidency having lost in his earlier three attempts.

ODM Nairobi County chairman George Aladwa has however fired back at Wetangula saying if Raila isn’t the coalition’s flag bearer then they (ODM) won’t be supporting any other candidate.

“Tumesema kama ODM, 2017 kama sio wewe, hakuna mambo ingine kama hayo. Wewe ndio tunataka ukue rais.” Aladwa said.

The message was deemed to have been directed to Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka who are also eying to be Cord’s flag bearers in 2017 presidential election.
