Icy Lando, a Kenyan artiste bound for greatness just shocked the entire world, especially the African scene by working with arguably one of the best, successful musicians in the world, Sean Kingston.
Discovering a passion for music through his sister, Icy joined his high school choir and band – later competing in music festivals annually. Eventually joining the Kenyan Boys Choir, the artist found the time to nourish his musical talent and create a sound that is truly unique.
The way Icy Lando finessed a collaboration record with Buju Banton’s nephew is out of this world but we are here for it because that’s an unprecedented move in the music industry. Thanks to his manager, Lando landed the collaboration record with the American-Jamaican singer who receives love globally.
However, what’s more, important is that together, they have made a hit that will forever be regarded as one of the best projects a Kenyan artiste has ever put out as a solo artiste and also a collaboration project.
“In 2007 when Sean Kingston released ‘Beautiful Girls’, I had just joined our high school band and we did a rendition of the song”, Icy recounts.
“I loved the vibe of the track and it inspired me to be an artist. Thirteen years later and I have the privilege to release a single with my idol.
Sean Kingston’s music has influenced me throughout my journey and I am so excited for everyone to listen to this single”
Icy Lando has by far set a precedence in the music industry that will never be forgotten and by doing that he has set the standards by raising the bar in the Kenyan-international collaboration projects.
