Nameless opened up about how he almost lost his life to a brain hemorrhage a few years ago speaking on the hit drama series dubbed ‘This Love’.

Nameless, together with his lovely, multi-talented, supportive wife Wahu gave a chilling narration of how Nameless suffered a brain hemorrhage, to top everything up, Wahu was also sickly that day.

A few years when Nameless attended a crucial PRISK(Performers Rights Society of Kenya) meeting, the ‘Megarider’ hitmaker remembers how he felt a piercing pain in his neck and a severe headache.

“All along my health had been pretty good, I don’t remember even going to sleep, but in 2017 I had a scare.

The day started like a normal day, I was supposed to go to a very important board meeting and towards the end of the meeting, I started feeling a weird pain in my neck then a headache started.

The pain was escalating really fast, so I went down to the parking to enter my car, the pain was ridiculous, it went from zero to a hundred in less than five minutes,” Nameless said.

Celebrated gospel musician Daddy Owen, together with Genge maestro Nonini were the people who saw that Nameless was going through some discomfort that fateful day.

Daddy Owen who was sitting by the window saw that Nameless hadn’t reached his car despite having left the board meeting a couple of minutes ago. Wanting to make sure that everything is okay, Daddy Owen rushed down down the building and saw Nameless almost collapsing due to the excruciating pain he was having that day.

“I was seated next to the window, I could see his car but he was not inside, so I went downstairs and he was just about to collapse at the entrance of the building. I called Herbo (Nonini- Herbert) then we picked him up, put him in my car, and started driving,” Daddy Owen narrated.

Nameless’ wife and the mother to their two children, Wahu was also under the weather that day. She was en route to Aga Khan for a quick checkup when she was phoned by Daddy Owen telling her to change direction and meet them in the hospital where they had admitted her husband.

“I had been getting some sickness spells and I wasn’t sure why, it was about 3 pm and I told Nameless that I needed to go to the hospital. Nonini kept calling me and I was like “I’ll talk to him when I get to the hospital,” but then Daddy Owen started calling and I got worried, I told Daddy Owen that I was on my way to Aga Khan Hospital, that’s when he told me to change direction and come to Nairobi Hospital because Nameless was being admitted,” Wahu opened up about that fateful day.

Nameless was attended to by a doctor, a friend of his at the hospital.

“He came to the suggested that I get a CT scan. After the scan, I was given some weird painkillers and I was like, this is not working,” he said.

Wahu Kagwi was glad to know that her husband had surpassed the 10% quota the good doctor was aiming for after she was told that Nameless needed to be admitted to the HDU.

“I remember the doctor calling me and telling me that this is serious and Nameless needed to be admitted to the HDU.

They did so many tests on him, the doctor wanted to cross confirm, over and over then finally he came with the good news that Nameless had surpassed the 10% quota that the doctor was aiming for.” she said.

Thereafter, after the positive results, Nameless was discharged from the hospital with a strict instruction of having some crucial rest for a couple of weeks. During these few weeks, he had an epiphany of how life can easily be snatched away from you, just like that. He spent a lot of time with his kids since he was always at home.

“I got back home after three weeks, and I spent a lot of time with my kids because I was mostly at home, but it also shifted my mind about life because it was like, ‘boom life can end at any time even if you’re in a safe space,” Nameless shared.
