Ali Hassan Joho, the ODM’s deputy party leader, has left the Raila Odinga led political party.

The former Mombasa County governor has long-standing aspirations to succeed Hon. Raila Odinga as movement’s leader.

When the time comes to replace Raila, Joho said years ago, that he would speak with other legislators and garner their support.

Years ago, Ali Hassan Joho asserted that Raila remained the undisputed ODM leader in an interview.

“My party is ODM. I’ve had a lot of fun with Raila. He is my political mentor, thus I want to be his deputy so that I may keep learning from him.” Joho said.

After news broke that he had finally left ODM, Kenyans were taken aback. At the time this story was being published, no official communication had been made available by Joho or ODM party on his official resignation..

If Azimio la Umoja had won the 2022 elections, Joho would have been the CS for Lands.

Azimio la Umoja vowed to oppose Kenya Kwanza government led by president William Ruto that they would carry on consultative pressure meetings in opposition to the ruling regime’s overarching policies.

Azimio believes most of them are bad for citizens, such as the introduction of GMO foods.

They are also pressuring the government to mitigate the tough economic situation and lower the already very high costs of living.

The movement is also against the marginalization of regions in leadership and jobs in the national government as seen in the most recent public servant nominations, that generally lacked regional balance.
