Harmonize got the opportunity to speak on what really happened to him not performing alongside Burna Boy when the Grammy Award winner had a show in Rwanda to perform.

Harmonize –who said that Burna Boy agreed to work together with Diamond Platnumz just because he asked him to as a favor since he’s not in a friend of his– opened up on how his former record label WCB blocked him from flying to Rwanda to support Burna Boy on his concert to perform their collaboration hit song dubbed ‘Kainama’.

WCB asked Harmonize a whopping USD 10,000 because he intended to go support fellow artiste and friend Burna Boy.

He didn’t make it but later on, apologized profusely for what his record label put him through by blocking him from supporting Burna Boy despite Burna Boy personally asking him to show up for the concert.

“I was charged USD 5,000 for working with a Nigerian artiste that’s TSh12 million. My mother stays in the village bro, I’ve built her a house I thank God, I’ve also bought her a car, I thank God but she deserves way more than that under my name. …. Listen any artiste from West Africa who works with you, makes a tag so that when he comes to these sides, there’s someone in his corner.

Burna Boy comes to Rwanda, he phones me and tells me to come to Rwanda to perform.

I was under record label so I had to get cleared by the management, I told them that Burna Boy is coming, I’ve done a song with him, the song is huge, he’s coming to Rwanda and he asked me to go and support him and show love.

Remember there are some other songs that are inside so when we refuse to go support him at his concert, he might see there’s no importance whatsoever which might cause the other songs to never get released, actually, those songs haven’t been released to this day.

They[WCB Management] told me that if I wanted to go to Rwanda I was supposed to pay them USD 10,000.

I asked them why I’m obligated to pay $10,000 and I’m going to perform with this man I’ve done a collaboration song with, and then we’re going to perform his song which will eventually create a good rapport with him.

I said there’s no problem. I decided not to perform. I flew all the way to Rwanda, if you’ve seen there’s a clip that I shared [on YouTube]where I went to Rwanda to surprise Burna Boy and even gave him a crown.

I told Burna Boy that I desired to perform with him but I’m under record label bro but next time we’ll do it.

Burna Boy understood me but he forgot to talk to his mother, who is his manager together with his team. They had a performance list and the last song on the list, they had ‘Kainama’.

So Burna Boy is on stage and they played ‘Kainama’, he turned around wondering when will Harmonize show up so that I can sing my part, I didn’t join him on the stage. So his entire team, his mother was very disappointed with him wondering what might have happened.

I had to follow Burna Boy and tell him that it was out of his hands and promised him that next time it will happen,” Harmonize opened up.

Harmonize also disclosed that he didn’t work with Burna Boy on one song alone, they both worked on four songs. The other three songs haven’t been released to this day due to misunderstandings that Harmonize talked about as soon as he landed in Tanzania fresh from his US tour.

The Konde Music Worldwide founder and CEO said that in the beginning, Burna Boy didn’t want to jump on the same record with Diamond Platnumz but convinced him and even defended Diamond’s honor.

“After releasing a song[‘Kainama’] with Burna Boy, me and Burna Boy we’ve worked on four songs. During that time when he was getting ready to release ‘African Giant’ studio album before ‘Twice As Tall’, I talked to him and told him that we’ve already worked on 3 songs together but I would love Diamond Platnumz to be a part of our fourth song together.

He[Burna Boy] told me; “he’s a good artiste but he’s not my friend”. I told him yes he’s not your friend but he’s the one who empowered me to become Harmonize because, without him, you wouldn’t have known me,” Harmonize said in part.

Harmonize also touched on WCB and Diamond Platnumz pulling strings to make sure that his collaboration projects with Sho Madjozi and ‘Jerusalema’ hitmaker Master KG didn’t go through even though the project was done and complete.

Harmonize confessed that he’s been constantly attacked by WCB ever since he parted ways with the record label despite him always choosing the high road of constantly choosing peace over the negativity or slander from the people he once called family.

Him coming out telling the truth comes after he could not take any more frustrations from WCB and the wrong narrative about him getting spread everywhere.

He decided to speak out because silence sometimes can be misunderstood to be the truth, he thought it wise to defend himself and that’s why he opened up about a lot of things not so many people knew about him and his situation with WCB that happened three years ago.
