Gusii Awards 2016 winners

GASUA Awards is the brainchild of Kevin Ombwori aka Kay B, a radio and television presenter cum musician.

“I started as a musician, that’s how the stage name Kay B came into being. But after releasing a single called Binti Bikira, I realized our industry was rotting and needed urgent cleansing. That’s how I ended up starting my weekly popular radio show on egesa fm called Ragga Kuruka and subsequently launched my daily music show on WTV called Vipaji Kenya, where I play 100% Kenyan music alongside Dj O,” Says Kay B.   “That’s when I realized the potential we have in music in Kenya and decided to come up with GASUA to identify, nurture and fete the great talents we have but decided to start from my homeland Gusii. I’m now thinking of expanding this idea to a big national music awards, very soon” he adds.
