The death of Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu has prompted Kenyan gospel singers Gloria Muliro and Betty Bayo to reflect on their failed marriages.

Osinachi reportedly died from domestic violence, she was  allegedly killed by her husband who has since been arrested as police try to get to the bottom of her death.

Osinanchi, 42, died on Friday April 8th in a hospital in the capital Abuja. She tragically died after a sustaining injuries from being beaten on her chest by her husband.

Nigerian media report that Osinachi was in an abusive marriage but she endured the abuse until she was ultimately killed by her husband.

It was revealed on Sunday April 10th that Osinachi was afraid to speak up because of the stigma of being a divorcee in church.

Kenyan gospel singers Gloria Muliro and Betty Bayo have since come out to urge Christian women to divorce their spouses if they are in abusive marriages.

Betty Bayo, who divorced her ex husband pastor Victor Kanyari after only three years of marriage, asked Christians to stop staying in marriages if they are being abused.

The gospel singer lamented that most Christian women suffer since they don’t believe in divorce and most of them preach against it.

“Devoted Christians suffer abusive marriages mostly coz they don’t believe in divorce bcos they preach against it. To them….it will get better and won’t last forever until they die inside the abusive marriage.

“Dear women, learn to dust yourself and move out from anything called abusive marriage. Marriage isn’t a do-or-die affair. Stop suffering and smiling. What people will say shouldn’t make you die inside nonsense. Who you marry should be better than the marriage itself,” said Betty Bayo.

Betty Bayo remarried last year, she married her current husband Hiram Gitau in Kikuyu traditional wedding ceremony held on December 17th 2021.

Gloria Muliro has also implored women to divorce their spouses if they are in abusive marriages. The gospel singer divorced her ex husband pastor Eric Omba after six years of marriage.

Gloria Muliro married Pastor Eric Omba Miko in 2009 in a colorful wedding, but her marriage didn’t stand the test of time.

The gospel singer walked out of her marriage with the Congolese in 2015 citing infidelity and mistreatment and never returned, even after Omba persistently tried to salvage the marriage in vain.

Gloria Muliro remarried in October 2021, she married her current husband Evans Sabwami in New York, US days after holding another ceremony in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

“My heart bleeds for this soul. Minister Osinachi, Rest. Ladies! Men! What if the shame of “what will they say…” is your healing in disguise? listen, is your life at risk? DONT WAIT TO DIE! Thank God I’m alive, happy and loved,” wrote Gloria Muliro following the tragic death of Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi.
