The outspoken, renowned COTU Chairman Francis Atwoli has expressed his intentions of endorsing Deputy President William Samoei Ruto ahead of the general elections in August 2022.
Atwoli said this after making an observation that Amani National Congress(ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper Democratic Movement Party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetang’ula, and Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party leader Raila Odinga haven’t come together as one unit ahead of 2022 to defeat Deputy President William Samoei Ruto who will be vying for the Presidential seat under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party ticket.
Francis Atwoli is of the opinion that there is no other politician who can take on the Deputy President alone and win in the upcoming general elections thus his reason why he needs to see the aforementioned politicians joining forces to defeat Deputy President William Samoei Ruto in the 2022 general elections.
Francis Atwoli gave his ultimatum to the former NASA Party principals giving them until Christmas Day this year as their D-Day for uniting their forces to run as one unit with one presidential flag bearer who will go head to head with DP Ruto.
Failure to comply with Atwoli’s wishes, he will stop supporting anyone else for the top democratic seat in the republic of Kenya and support Deputy President William Samoei Ruto while endorsing him because nobody can beat DP William Samoei Ruto alone in the upcoming general elections if we were to take the recently concluded by-elections as a testing ground, there’s no denying that DP Ruto is single-handedly way above the political curve in the country at the moment.
“I have given Raila Odinga, Mudavadi, Wetangula and Kalonzo until Christmas to unite, if they don’t, I will mobilise people to support William Ruto.
Vying separately is like giving William Ruto the keys to State House,” Atwoli said on Tuesday, August 12, 2021.
The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) coalition brings together Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, Baringo Senator and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula. The ODM Party leader, Raila Odinga isn’t a party of the OKA coalition.
The four leaders are yet to identify a presidential flag bearer who will challenge Deputy President William Ruto for the top seat in 2022.
