“In five years, I will have achieved a lot now that I am a born again Christian” Collo

Collo who once self-proclaimed himself to be the King of rap in Kenya (which I believe he is by the way)surprised many by coming forward to declare that he is a born again Christian but many did not believe at first because they thought that he was pulling on of the many gimmicks our Kenyan entertainers usually pull to get some attention to themselves.

First forward to a few months, today Collo is still a born-again Christian and a rapper representing the Almighty God and his single ‘Bazokizo’ doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon and the unique dance moves in the music video choreographed by Bruz Newton is one of the unique dance moves I have ever seen.

Sitting down with Keroche Foundation Young Entrepreneurs Mentorship Program as a mentee, Collo opens up about how he will have achieved many things in a span of five years.

This is a synopsis of the interview Keroche Foundation Young Entrepreneurs Mentorship Program had with Collo, kindly read it and watch the video as well.

Being a born again Christian has been my greatest achievement so far. In 5 years, I will have scaled greater heights.

Collins Majale, a multi-award winning Kenyan rapper, performer and songwriter, is quite well for himself ever since he joined season two Keroche Foundation Young Entrepreneurs Mentorship Program as a mentee.

The foundation is an initiative by Mrs. Tabitha Karanja, CEO Keroche Breweries geared towards mentoring young entrepreneurs in Kenya.

He recently released the grand dance movement rocking Nairobi’s music scene right now, BAZOKIZO. According to Collo, this is a victory dance and celebration of his salvation. He also went with a theme that would integrate rap into dance since he felt that there was a misconception that rap and dance do not mix which needed to change. He met Bruz Newton, the man who choreographed the dancers in BAZOKIZO during a certain video shoot and Collo casually mentioned to Bruz Newton that he would love to do a dance song. A few days after, the two were in studio preparing the song and a day after the dance hit was ready. That is how quickly BAZOKIZO came together and that is how focused and passionate Collo is about his work. The 35 dancers in the video are from the Mathare Youth Sport Association which makes Collo a man of his word since his interests are inclined towards youth empowerment and vows to elevate the lives of the youth.

He intends to venture into entrepreneurship and become the ideal businessman since M-Collo-M Enterprises is growing. He wants to change how things are done especially in the entertainment scene and kill the complaints and negative image about local music and the Kenyan entertainment industry. We can expect major achievements from him this season, especially after going through Keroche Foundation Young Entrepreneurs Mentorship Program. – Collo
