Gengetone artiste and Black Market Records signee Exray Taniua has landed himself in a hot soup after a ruling was placed on his song ‘Sipangwingwi Remix’ by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission, headlines in all the newspapers outlined it clearly that the song is being used for incitement.
Deputy President William Sameoi Ruto who happens to be featured on the song and credited his contribution to this project as his song for a campaign is now yet to defend himself.
The ‘Sipangwingwi’ original version has been out and the phrase has been a common slogan among people now within the political circle.
DP Ruto has come to shut down critics and people in the system saying that this was a move to derail him off the right path of his campaigns and the only way they could achieve it is to give a bad picture of the UDA now ‘Hatupangwingwi’ hit song.
The remix is already at its peak and the reception it has received out there is astonishing.
In the year 2021, Exray released ‘Sipangwingwi’ which acclaimed over 6 million views on YouTube to this day and still counting.
“The original song or the remix of the same was never intended to pass some kind of hidden coded message to people or incite hate but just another song to commemorate the streets,” quoted the Gengetone artiste Exray Taniua.
The commission NCIC has placed some harsh rulings against all the songs being used for campaigns right now.
