Kikuyu Benga musician John Ng’ang’a Mwangi, popularly known as John DeMathew, died in a grisly road crash near Thika Town on Sunday night August 18th 2019.

The deceased was a polygamous man and his death sparked fears that there would be baby mama/wives drama at his burial like what was witnessed after the death of late Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

The speculations came after it was announced that the late singer will be laid to rest on Saturday August 24th 2019, at his home in Gathiruini village, Murang’a County.

DeMathew’s younger brother, Evans Mburu, has however assured fans that there would be no conflict or drama whatsoever as the family had talked to the late musician’s two wives.

“We recognize the two wives, Mama Shiku (Wairimu) and Waithera. His two wives are known and we have talked to them. Everyone knows that he has two wives and they will not fight,” said Evans Mburu.

An obituary announcement lists Sabina and Carolyne as John DeMathew’s recognized wives, as well as seven children he fathered with the two women.
