The controversial and outspoken comedian, Eric Omondi speaks has touched on the significant step the Kenyan entertainment and music scene has made after Nyashinski performed yesterday at the concluded ‘Destination Africa Festival’.

The show that was brought about by Vibes Only Limited as the inaugural ‘Destination Africa Festival’ that took place on the 13th of November at the Ngong Racecourse was supposed to be headlined by ‘Sinner’ hitmaker, Adenkule Gold.

Taking to social media to celebrate, Eric Omondi is glad -—some would say ecstatic—- after Nyashinski became the headliner for the show instead of the ‘Mungu Pekee’ curtain-raising for the Nigerian sought-after hitmaker.

Eric Omondi who has been pushing for the local stations to play 75% of local music expressed his joy of seeing Nyashinski closing the show of a major concert in Kenya that had an international artiste performing.

“First and foremost, yesterday was a HISTORIC day because it was the 1st time in Kenyan History that an International artist “Curtain Raised” for a Kenyan artist,” Omondi shared in part.

Eric Omondi commended everybody who was pushing for the revolutionizing the Kenyan music scene personally thanking Victoria Kimani, Jose Chameleon, and Frasha for being at the forefront of the aforementioned revolution.

“It may look like a small insignificant thing to some people but it is the BEGINNING of Many Firsts. It was the First necessary step to Revolutionizing the INDUSTRY!!! And it would not have happened if we didn’t PUSH!!!, So we will PUSH Some MORE!!! We will get there SOON!!!

Secondly apart from Victoria Kimani who drafted the Bill we are taking to Parliament on Tuesday, Frasha and Jose Chameleon who is not even Kenyan, none of the Established Old school and New School Artists have Supported this Course, In fact a majority have PUBLICLY Opposed it,” he went on to explain himself where he’s coming from.

Omondi went further to issue a warning to all the musicians in the country who are not behind the revolution he’s talking about deeming them some “few delusional individuals[sic]” noting that they are against those who wants to change how the system works in Kenya.

“I want to PERSONALLY and OFFICIALLY put all of them on NOTICE. We will RAISE a new GENERATION of Kenyan Musicians if they CONTINUE to SLUMBER and WALLOW in DENIAL. If they are not FOR us then they are AGAINST us!!!

The HERITAGE and PRIDE of a NATION is at STAKE and 46 Million people are SURELY more important than a FEW DELUSIONAL individuals. HONESTLY why wouldn’t they SUPPORT a Course that BENEFITS them.
Our AGENDA is CLEAR and SIMPLE;

1. PLAY 75 PERCENT LOCAL
2. PAY ESTABLISHED LOCAL ARTISTS EQUALLY with their International Counterparts
3. Treat our LOCAL Artist Fairly and RESPECTFULLY,” the award-winning comedian concluded the post on social media.
