Tanzanian gospel singer Enock Jonas caught the attention of everyone after he demanded to be paid a whopping Tsh500 million/Ksh25.9 million by Wasafi claiming that Zuchu stole his song.

Enock, who is known for the hit song ‘Wema wa Mungu/Zunguka’, had complained to Tanzanian authorities that Zuchu sampled his song in her latest track ‘Kwi kwi’.

Jonas said the melody and part of the lyrics were taken without his consent.

Well, it has now emerged that Enock too stole Diamond Platnumz’s song.

New details show that he sampled Diamond’s ‘Number One’ hit song and used it in one of his songs.

The gospel artiste has been advised to settle the matter outside court.

WCB manager Babu Tale said Jonas wasn’t even going to get TSh5 million.

Wasafi has in the recent past fighting cases of copyright infringement over the use of other musicians’ songs without their consent.

In 2021, Diamond also sampled Otile’s beats in his song ‘Naanzaje’, which was taken from Otile’s song ‘Such kinda love’, originally released in May 2021.

The most recent case happened just days ago after Mbosso’s new song featuring Diamond was deleted from YouTube over copyright claim.
