Emmanuel Adebayor says he won’t donate to help fight coronavirus

Former Premier League goalscorer, Emmanuel Adebayor has addressed people who have been calling him out to donate some few essentials to help fight the Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic and not everybody is amused by his address on the issue.

The 36-year-old footballer who has signed for Paraguayan side Olimpia shortly before football was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic has come forward to say bluntly that he won’t be donating anything to Togo people because he didn’t bring the pandemic in the country.

“I always do things according to the wishes of my heart and not according to the words of others,” Adebayor said in a Facebook live video.

Former Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Real Madrid frontman Emmanuel Adebayor has publicly stated why he won’t donate anything to Togo citizens during this Pandemic and asked people to stop comparing him with Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba stressing that he didn’t bring Coronavirus, COVID-19 to Togo.

Samuel Eto’o donated relief packages to his country, Cameroon with some important essentials like sanitizers, soaps, protective equipment that was handed out in the capital city Douala, he gave out food as well.

Former Chelsea forward and Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba joined Samuel Eto’o’s efforts by donating the soon-to-be-completed Laurent Pokou hospital, built by his Drogba Foundation, to his home nation’s government as a facility to screen for the disease.

Drogba, together with Eto’o was on the forefront to speak against French Professors who were suggesting Africa be used as a testing ground for a vaccine due to most countries in Africa are considered “developing nations” and have little protections if any to begin with that would help them fight the Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am sorry that people compare me to Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba by asking me why I don’t have a foundation or why I don’t donate, as if I was the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo”

” I am neither the one nor the others, I am me, Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor. A word of advice for the guys regarding donations, I will not do that, everything is clear and very simple. Thank you and good day”
