Ellenor Kim real name Ellen Waruguru Kimani is just making a name for herself in the super-competitive music industry but thanks to firm believers of her craft like her mother who not only believes in her but finances her music career she’s set to dominate and make her name speak for itself in the near future.

Ellenor Kim’s inspiration for coming up with her debut record ‘Melanin’ stem from a lot of societal discrimination and rangi ya thao mentality which seems to be crashing down on dark complexion women in lieu of dark-skinned ones.

Speaking on record about her latest released ‘Melanin’, the singer says this song is a dedication to this special group(dark-skinned complexion people) of African queens and kings.

Everyone who has been a victim of this discrimination should be get inspired and be comfortable in their own skin whenever they hear this song.

Her being a dark skin girl, she has witnessed firsthand the discrimination against dark women and it really hurts so she was inspired to make a groovy but inspirational song for all black women and men.

Ellenor Kim says the ‘Melanin’ song is a dedication to this special group of African queens and kings. Everyone who has been a victim of this discrimination should be get inspired and be comfortable in their own skin whenever they hear this song.

The societal pressure it places on dark skin women is too much as it creates low esteem and discontentment.

The song is about the appreciation of dark/brown skin beauties all over.

The 20-year-old singer, instrumentalist who is also a student at the United States International University has kickstarted her music career with a bang and thanks to her song which has an interesting, sizzling music video, a lot of young girls and women out there might just have their spirits, and confidence lifted by appreciating their melanin since like they say; melanin is always popping.
