Deputy President William Samoei Ruto does not have any issues whatsoever with AP(Administration Police) officers talking over from GSU (General Service Unit) officers as his new security detail a few days ago.

DP Ruto who opened up about the controversial move terming the matter trivial and a non-issue spoke at a Church Service on Sunday said that he is focused on moving forward adding that he actually doesn’t mind getting guarded by G4S officers.

He reiterated that GSU officers should be tasked with protecting Kenyans and the country at large if indeed that was the purpose why the GSU officers deployed to him were redeployed, and for that, he has no problem whatsoever.

“We will make sure the nation is firm…wakulima wanatafuta…hii mambo ya GSU, AP ni mambo madogo sana tusipoteze wakati…Sina shida na AP wakikuja kusimamia mahali naishi…wale GSU kama kazi imepatikana ili Wakenya wapate usalama wacha wasaidie Wakenya pale.

Wanaweza leta hata G4S, there is no problem…tusilete migawanyiko kwa askari…tuache siasa duni….wale wanajitafutia nani mkubwa nani mdogo, haya hayasaidii changamoto zilizoko kwa Wakenya…priorities ni kujua wafanyibiashara wanapata fedha wapi,” DP Ruto said.

Deputy President Ruto also took the opportunity to thwart all the calls coming his way urging him to resign from the Jubilee government over his alleged dissatisfaction with its operations for the longest time.

The DP doesn’t see himself resigning at all because when he does, he believes that he will not be doing justice to all who voted for the Jubilee government but he will be betraying all the millions of Kenyans who braved long queues and cold morning weather to cast votes in Jubilee’s favor, a government that he helped form.

“Nimepewa mawaidha, sijui nijiuzulu kuna matatizo kwa serikali…sasa nawaambia siku niliamua kutafuta uongozi nilijua kuna matatizo na shida ya kutatua…wakati unatafuta suluhu kama kiongozi unaweza kupata matatizo,” he said in part.

He went further to add that he wasn’t voted in to eat ice cream but to serve millions of Kenyans, “Itakuwa uwoga na aibu kubwa kwamba mimi nitatoroka kwa matatizo yaliyoko…itawezekanaje nitoroke? Ni usaliti mkubwa kwawale waliamka mapema kunipigia kura, ati kwa sababu kuna matatizo, mimi sikuchaguliwa kula ice cream…kujaribu kukwepa nitawasaliti mamilioni.”
