DNG explains why he’s vying for the MCA position in 2022

DNG made up his decision not so long ago about vying for an elective position in 2022, a decision that he’s sticking with until his dream comes true. He wants to represent the youth completely and fully in every imaginable way.

DNG real name Davidson Ngibuini is set to vie for an MCA(Member of County Assembly) position for the Woodley Kenyatta Golf Course Ward in 2022 under the UDA’s banner and he’s totally serious with being an elective member.

DNG took to social media to explain himself why he decided to run in the first place as he shared the interview he went to together with Robert Alai where he explained himself on the youth being the next future leaders in this country.

DNG reiterates that “the change we seek is not going to come across miraculously. We have to work for it. Change is brought about by people, not wishful thinking.” adding that he wants to get more young people get interested in politics and ultimately join the elective politics full throttle.

DNG a former KORA Award winner and former gospel hitmaker says that he believes that change is possible and he came to learn all about change thanks to the #UnlockourCountry campaign.

The number 1 African hypeman will be vying for the aforementioned political seat running under the UDA political party.

This is what DNG had to say about his intentions of running for a political seat in 2022 under the UDA banner:

Everyone I have interacted with has been telling me that I have massive leadership potential. Many have told me I need to get into leadership. Others have told me I need to vie for an elective position.

Despite having been involved in Presidential Elections and Civic Education thrice, I never had the interest to vie. In 2017, I declined to support the ruling party as I knew they had nothing to offer young people. Instead, I launched my own Youth Initiative, @HustleYako and supported other Civic Education Campaigns such as @Jiactivate, #NextGeneration, #KuraYakoChaguoLako, #MyVoiceCounts among others.

I then set up my NGO: @254Cares_ where #HustleYako is domiciled. I thereafter unveiled the @PunguzaKE Initiative and most recently, @WhosYourLeader? Initiative.

My goal is to get more young people to get into elective politics. My goal is to get more young people excited about voting and participating in civic and political processes.

The reason is simple: The change we seek is not going to come across miraculously. We have to work for it. Change is brought about by people, not wishful thinking.

What steering the #UnlockOurCountry Campaign has taught me is that change is possible, and change is within our grasp. We have to have the guts to step up and get this done! My journey has begun. What about yours?
